Starting in 2022, two new teams will be added to the Indian Premier League (IPL), building a 10-team tournament. At its annual meeting in Ahmedabad on Thursday, the BCCI Steering Committee approved the participation of two new political parties. Currently, the IPL is an issue for eight teams. In another important development, BCCI endorsed the International Cricket Council’s proposal to include cricket in the Los Angeles Olympics. The BCCI secretary and treasurer will also discuss tax deductions for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and the Overworld Cup with the government.
BCCI will resume its national season after a few months delay in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Championship in January. BCCI is looking for 3 people selected for the national team. Among the candidates was former Indian high-speed pitcher Ajit Agarkar.
